One thing that has happened however is perhaps TV watchers are casting their own judgment on Phil and Duck Dynasty. The show's ratings have dropped significantly since the controversy. It is rumored that A&E may be looking to develop a new show in replacement.

We were glad to see the drop in ratings as it shows some viewers watch television with a conscience and an eye to reject intolerance. That is an excellent development in our point of view. The new show it is rumored in the link above may still be based on some form of Christian values. Let us hope the A&E network chooses stars whose brand of Christianity has a less rigid mindset and an orientation that is more accepting of people. Individuals that focus on a positive Christian outlook, not a negative judgmental one.
Under Armour however continues to choose to support bigotry and prejudice. They were recently awarded two new contracts. One from Notre Dame and one from the United States Naval Academy.

Notre Dame has the right to choose whomever they want to make their uniforms, etc. But the United States Naval Academy is a public institution. It in fact belongs to the the people of the United States. That includes our society's gay members. Considering that discrimination is illegal in the United States we should not be awarding contracts to businesses that support prejudice. Anyone who feels as we do should contact their United States Senator and member of Congress to protest this award. All of the members of SU are doing so. The contract should be awarded to a company which either remains apolitical or that supports tolerance.
We also congratulate the Grammy Awards for their courageous stand in holding a gay wedding ceremony during the show. The more exposure people get to our fellow gay citizens will help people to see that they are no threat to the rest of us and neither are their marriages. In fact we should encourage gay marriage as a responsible action as we see it for heterosexual couples. The love and joy apparent between the couples was wonderful to see. May they all have long and happy lives together.
Now again we post. Wake up Under Armour and do the right thing. Drop your sponsorship of Duck Dynasty. It is an embarrassment to your corporation.
